Job description
A contract position that will be extended every six months.

The client IT Department develops software supporting our automated infectious disease diagnostic instruments. We are seeking an experienced OO Consultant to join our software development team.

The successful candidate will work with the development team (3+ developers) to develop new features and to support and maintain existing code base using web-based Java J2EE technologies.

At a minimum, we are looking for someone who is capable of working autonomously and with minimal handholding, once he/she understands the architecture and the nature of the work. We put a premium on team interaction and communication, so the person must be a good communicator and a team player.

Minimum Requirements
* At least 4 years of software development experience.
* Minimum 4 years experience using Java and preferably 1 year of C++ experience.
* At least 3 years of experience using relational databases such as Oracle / DB2 / SQL Server etc.
* Minimum 3 years OO analysis and design experience using Design Patterns and UML. At least 2 years of experience using an OO Modeling tool such as Rational Rose or Together.
* At least 3 years experience developing multi-tier and client-server applications.
* Past experience with XML Parsing (using DOM or SAX).
* 1 year of experience using Hibernate, Spring and JSF.
* Experience with a software development methodology such as RUP or XP * At least 1 year of experience in the use of JUnit based testing tools.
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills are essential.
* Enthusiastic contributor with a real "go-getter, can-do" attitude who things proactively and delivers high quality software.
* Demonstrated ability to work independently and as part of the team.

*Strong experience developing multi tiered web apps using Visual Studio 2005 deployed in an IIS environment using OO techniques.
*Strong experience with C#, HTML, JavaScript, XML, and SQL.
*Strong experience with SQLServer 2000/2005.
*Demonstrable working knowledge of UML artifacts.
*Proven ability to work with business SMEs.
*Strong analytical and problem solving skills.
*Confidence to make decisions.
*Knowledge of data modeling and DW/BI solution design with in a SQL Server 2000/2005 environment a plus.

Education

Certificates/Licenses
